I know, the title says it all. But let me share my personal experience as a fan. From using social media to buying good online just so I can support my idol.

My fangirl life started in SNS.

I started with Livejournal. Livejournal is my haven for idol information for quite a long time. Before I became an Eighter, I was an Arashian who craved for more information about my idols. As mentioned in my previous post, I watch and download videos from subbing communities just so I can still be 'close' to them. It was hard considering that I heavily relied on Youtube and Livejournal — not to mention back then I still rent a computer so I can download the 'goods' — even to the point that I even DL during my computer class in high school and college. I told myself that it was tough being a fangirl, you really wanted to support your idols yet you can't. Good thing one of my classmates in high school was a JE fan and she help me feed my cravings for my idols — and this 'feeding' made me discover and join the Eighter fandom then became a Nomader.

As time passed by, I thought Livejournal was not enough. At this point, I turned to Twitter. Funny as it sounds, I became an active Twitter user after Ryo Nishikido left Kanjani8 on September 4.
