Hi! It's been a awhile since I last posted...

Before I kept posting things about me disliking my former job... and now I moved.... and I would like to stay in this job forever...

Now I am working as a teacher in a local private school 500 meters away from my house :)
And I thought being a teacher is an easy job.. but little did I know that it was way to hard...

I am teaching values at the same time I am the publication head of the school meaning I have two jobs...
Making news is easy except for the grammar and staff, but the hard part is how do I teach my students in a way everybody could understand what I am telling them.

Let me introduce you to my students per level and the problems that I have encountered:

  • Grade 7: They are 6 in the class, 1 girl and 5 boys. everyone seem good except to one. Amongst them is a student who has low motor skills and is a very slow learner. Every time I write thing on the whiteboard, he can't write. I even conducted a quiz but, he has not answered anything. But because of him it makes me think what kind of approach should I do in order for him to catch up. What I kind of do for him is that I give him hand outs for him to have notes. When it comes to quizzes I guess he should answer in multiple choice. Maybe I'll try that....

  • Grade 8: They 10 in the class. 5 girls and 5 boys. They are all good in class and they could catch up with the class very well, but something happen today. One of their classmates seems a little bit nosy or should I say this child seem to be entering onto situations that should not be entered... in short she minds other problems even though she shouldn't be. So her classmates retaliated towards her and bullied her.... Even though me and her class adviser kept advising her she say sorry for what she has done, she kept insisting her side... OMG... well I have to incorporate that in the class discussion  to help lessen the tension here..

  • Grade 9: They are also 10 in the class... 3 boys and the rest are girls. they seem to be the smartest of all but amongst them there were 2 foreign nationals: 1 Japanese and 1 Chinese. My Chinese student is smart and is a very fast learner. My Japanese student is a slow learner. I do understand the language barrier problem but what I told my Jap student is that she has to do her part to help us solve her problem. What I told her was she should ask questions (by the way, she was afraid that if she does tells me that she does not understand the lesson, she might hold the class back, and she feels like it was her fault.) and she agreed so every time we have a discussion, I try to translate the difficult words to nihonggo for her to understand. so all seemed well.

  • Fourth Year (4th Yr): They are 6 in the class and all were girls. I still have no idea what are there attitudes are but as per my first impression, one of them is too noisy. Hmmmm.... Once I get to know them better I'll try to tell it in this post :)

So that's it... Up until now I think I am a weird teacher but I still try to level myself to their own understanding. I can dot this... and this was my motto every time I feel useless and weak: "WALK THE TALK..."
